What Does “Viz” Mean?

The term “Viz” originates from the Latin word videlicet (abbreviated as "viz."), which translates to "it is permitted to see" or "namely." Derived from the Latin roots videre (to see) and licet (it is permitted), it was traditionally used to introduce clarifications or examples, implying "you may see clearly what I mean."

Over time, the original meaning of "viz." has evolved. In modern contexts, it’s recognized as shorthand for "namely" or "that is to say." However, in creative and technical fields like architecture and design, “Viz” has taken on a new life as an abbreviation for visualization—the art of making concepts visible and clear.

In my work, “Viz” reflects this modern meaning. It represents the process of transforming architectural ideas into realistic 3D renderings, animations, and other visual tools that bring designs to life. From its Latin roots to its contemporary relevance, “Viz” perfectly encapsulates my mission: making your visions visible.

About me
I’m Moataz Mostafa, an architect and 3D visualization specialist with over a decade of experience turning architectural concepts into striking visuals. Holding a Bachelor’s in Architecture and a Master’s in Environmental Architecture from Hochschule Bremen, Germany, I’ve been involved in a wide range of residential, educational, and commercial projects since 2014.

Based in Germany since 2019, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work, blending precision, creativity, and technical expertise. With advanced proficiency in tools like Autodesk Revit, 3Ds Max + V-Ray, Chaos Vantage, and Adobe Creative Suite, I specialize in creating photorealistic renderings that communicate ideas effectively.

I collaborate with architects, real estate developers, and designers to craft visuals tailored to their needs, ensuring every project stands out. My focus is always on delivering visuals that are not just accurate but meaningful, helping clients communicate their vision clearly.
